eBay Seller News September 2026: Everything UK Sellers Need to Know

eBay has published its September 2026 seller news update, covering a series of changes across shipping, discounts, buyer protection, and listing tools that affect UK sellers across a range of categories. Here is a summary of the most important updates and what they mean for your business, with links to our full breakdowns of each change.

Replacing the Global Shipping Programme

The most significant operational change in the September update is the replacement of the Global Shipping Programme with eBay International Shipping, rolling out to eligible UK sellers in phases from August 2026. The new service expands international reach from 105 countries to 195, is up to 30 percent cheaper for buyers, and comes with a significantly improved returns process that protects seller payouts once a parcel is scanned at the UK hub, even if a buyer returns the item. Sellers are enrolled automatically with no action required.

Bundle Discounts for Multi-Item Orders

eBay has launched a new bundle discounts feature allowing sellers to offer percentage savings when buyers purchase two, three, or four or more items in a single order. The feature is opt-in, requires no manual calculation, and is designed to increase average order value by incentivising buyers to add more items to their basket. eBay Store subscribers can also set up rule-based automatic offers to automate the process across their catalogue.

Seller Initiated Offers to Buyers

eBay has enhanced its Offers to Buyers feature with new automation tools, bulk update capabilities, and rule-based offers for Store subscribers. Sellers can now send private, targeted discounts directly to buyers who are watching a listing or have added an item to their cart without completing the purchase, with the option to automate those offers so eBay sends them on the seller's behalf going forward.

Unpaid Item Policy Update

eBay has updated and clarified its unpaid item policy, confirming that buyers must pay within four calendar days of committing to a purchase, and that sellers can cancel an order and record an unpaid cancellation on the buyer's account if payment is not received within that window. Buyers who accumulate excessive unpaid cancellations may face buying limits or restrictions on their account. For eBay Live auctions specifically, immediate payment is required.

Fitment Plus Auto for Parts and Accessories Sellers

From 15 September 2026, eBay is automatically enrolling Parts and Accessories sellers in Fitment Plus Auto, a feature that adds compatible vehicle information to eligible listings using brand and Manufacturer Part Number data. The feature improves listing discoverability in vehicle-specific searches and builds buyer confidence by showing clear compatibility information. Listings enhanced through Fitment Plus Auto qualify for eBay Assured Fit, protecting sellers if a buyer returns an item because it does not fit their vehicle.
