eBay Simple Delivery update adds InPost lockers and Yodel drop offs across the UK for faster, more flexible parcel sending.

eBay Adds InPost Lockers to Simple Delivery for UK Private Sellers

eBay has expanded Simple Delivery for UK private sellers by adding access to over 8,000 InPost lockers nationwide, many available 24/7, plus thousands of Yodel drop off locations that sit within the wider InPost network.

From January 2026, buyers will start seeing InPost as a delivery option on eligible listings. For sellers, the key point is this: it is enabled automatically, so you do not need to change anything to benefit from the additional drop off locations.

What this means for private sellers

This update is designed to make selling simpler and posting more flexible. If you are selling around work, family, or a busy schedule, lockers and parcel shops reduce the friction of getting parcels out the door.

  • More places to drop off parcels, including 24/7 options in many areas
  • Less reliance on post office opening hours
  • More delivery choice for buyers, which can improve conversion
  • Tracking included, which supports faster payouts and smoother order management

How eBay Simple Delivery works

Simple Delivery is eBay’s all in one delivery solution that aims to reduce the admin that comes with postage decisions. It provides delivery options based on similar items and your courier preferences.

Once your item sells, eBay provides:

  • A prepaid printable label and a QR code
  • Tracking included automatically
  • Protection in case of loss or damage in transit
  • A smoother path to getting paid because tracking is built in

What InPost on Simple Delivery offers

With this rollout, InPost becomes part of the Simple Delivery experience for private sellers, bringing several practical benefits.

  • Over 8,000 lockers and parcel shops across the UK
  • Printer free shipping by scanning a QR code
  • Access to thousands of Yodel stores in the InPost network
  • Great value delivery rates for sellers and buyers

Automatic enablement, with an opt out option

InPost is enabled already, which means the delivery option will be available to your buyers without you needing to do anything. Buyers will start seeing the option from January 2026.

If you would like to opt out, you can do so at any time in your Postage Preferences. eBay’s guidance is to enable all couriers so you can offer the most competitive rates and reach more buyers.

Where the pricing sweet spot might be

Early guidance suggests the strongest value tends to show up in the 1 to 2kg medium parcel bracket, although enabling all couriers typically gives you the best overall pricing coverage depending on the item size and weight.

Why this matters for sellers

Convenience is a growth lever because it increases consistency. The easier it is to post, the more likely you are to list regularly. For buyers, more delivery choice reduces hesitation at checkout, especially for people who do not want parcels left at home.

Locker based delivery is becoming a default expectation across UK ecommerce, so eBay making it frictionless for private sellers is a meaningful step in keeping the platform competitive.

What to do next

If you are a private seller, the simplest approach is to keep the option enabled and monitor performance once it is live.

  • Watch which delivery options buyers choose most often
  • Track whether conversion improves when buyers have more delivery flexibility
  • Pay attention to item size and weight, especially around the 1 to 2kg range
  • Keep your handling time tight so tracking events start quickly

More options, less admin, and faster posting is usually a win. This update gives private sellers another practical way to keep parcels moving, without complicating the workflow.
